HIST 101: American Dreams and Realities (1 Unit) One-semester thematic approach to understanding the American experience from its beginning to the present. The course will attempt to aid students in answering such questions as: “What are my values and how are they connected to the historical past?” Witch hunts, the frontier, violence, the city, technology, war (Hiroshima & Vietnam), success, morals, women, immigration, racism, reform and the environment will be among the themes explored in a search towards defining the American character.
