Environmental Geology Minor

Requirements for Minor in Environmental Geology

Five Units, Including:

E&E 151: Introduction to Geology (1 Unit)
E&E 202: Geomorphology (1 Unit)
E&E 315: Ground Water (1 Unit)

One Unit Selected From:

E&E 306: Glaciers and Climate Change (1 Unit)
E&E 307: Environmental Geochemistry (1 Unit)

One Unit Selected From:

E&E 102: Introduction to the Environment (1 Unit)
E&E 104: Earth Resources and the Environment (1 Unit)
E&E 106: Natural Disasters (1 Unit)
E&E 108: Oceans, Atmosphere and Climate (1 Unit)
E&E 133: Geography and GIS (1 Unit)
E&E 233: Remote Sensing and GIS (1 Unit)
OR
A one-unit equivalent of approved independent research
E&E 412: Directed Study (1 Unit)
OR
E&E 411: Directed Study (.5 Unit) taken twice

Additional Requirements

Completion of an approved field experience (e.g., a research experience or internship with a significant field component or E&E 271 or E&E 375 ).
Departmental Colloquia: All environmental geology minors are required to attend departmental colloquia regularly and to present once each semester for two semesters.
All courses for the minor must be taken for a numerical grade.
Note: This minor may not be elected by students majoring in geology or earth science.
