Ethnic Studies, B.A.

Eight Units, Including the Following:

• ETHN 103  
• ETHN 370  or equivalent theory and methods course with department chair’s approval.
• Students must successfully complete an experiential learning project that deepens their understanding of multicultural perspectives.  Projects are selected in consultation with an Ethnic Studies faculty member.  Examples include:  Internships (on and off campus); capstone projects; research projects or theses; off-campus study programs with a community engagement or service component.

Five elective units consisting of the following pre-approved list of courses.

• At least 2 electives must be 300-level or higher.
• Other courses can be approved on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the Ethnic Studies chair.
• Courses must be selected from two different departments.
• All courses must be taken for a numerical grade, except those offered only on a credit/no credit basis.
