Environmental Studies Minor

Requirements for minor in Environmental Studies

Six units, including

• ENVN 101: Fundamentals of Environmental Studies (1 Unit)

Two of the following courses:

• ANTH 105: An Introduction to Anthropology (1 Unit)
• BIOL 195: Ecology, Evolution and Biodiversity (1 Unit)
• GEOL 101: Introductory Geology (1 Unit)

Three additional units, including at least two units at the 200-level or above, including:

Any courses that fulfill the Environmental Studies category requirement (designated YEN)

OR

Any course with the ENVN prefix

OR

WGS 250  , Gender and the Global Garden

Additional Requirements

No more than 2 units with the same departmental prefix (other than ENVN courses) may be counted toward the minor.

Directed study/internship must be approved by the Earth & Environment department chair; no more than one unit of internship or directed study credit may be counted toward the minor.

All courses for the minor must be taken for a numerical grade.

The Environmental Studies minor cannot be elected by Environmental Studies or Environmental Science majors.

Departmental Colloquia:  All environmental studies minors are required to attend departmental colloquia regularly.
