ENGL 203: Advanced Writing: College and Beyond

(1 Unit)
Sophomore standing or above and one of the following:  completion of ENGL 101 or 101H with a grade of 2.0 or better, recommendation of student’s instructor in ENGL 100, placement during SOAR or advanced placement in English.
Advanced study of and practice in writing beyond the 101-level, with emphasis on writing for specific audiences, techniques of argumentation, stylistic choices available to writers, and increased sophistication in thought and expression.  Required of students obtaining elementary teacher certification.
