THEA 354: Theatrical Scenic Design

Prerequisite: THEA 123 or permission of instructor.
This course introduces students to the principles and process of stage design along with the technical conventions of conveying a design to directors, technicians, and other designers. Students will analyze a variety of scripts from a designer’s perspective and research a chosen work. students will also learn the technical aspects of design work, including hand drafting and model making, and produce a 1/4” scale preliminary design package and a 1/4” scale white model.
