BIOL 358: RNASeq 1 unit Prerequisites: BIOL 195 , BIOL 210 , BIOL 300 RNASeq is the sequencing and analysis of RNA molecules collected from cells. The sequences represent a gene’s expression level at the moment of sample collection. There are many applications for RNASeq such as identifying the location of genes within a genome and uncovering the genes involved in a biological pathway by comparing expression profiles. Concepts will be explained in lecture, online resources will be used for RNASeq analysis, journal articles with the application of RNASeq will be discussed weekly, student results will be confirmed by RT-qPCR, and students present their results in a final written report to be published online.
