MUS 104: Gateway to Music

Prerequisite: Pre-screening diagnostic test
This course will introduce students to the study and application of musical elements and fundamentals through analytic listening, musical notation, theory workshop, composition, and in-class performance. A beginning level of keyboard techniques will also be introduced. Musical examples will be drawn from various styles: Western classical, jazz/blues, rock/pop/R&B, and world music styles.
