PHIL 402: Capstone Research Seminar

Prerequisite: Philosophy major with at least a Junior standing, or by permission of instructor.
Philosophy 402 is a seminar for majors wherein students engage in self-directed philosophical research, developing and defending a philosophical position of their choosing. Students will receive the resources and mentorship needed to employ philosophical skills at a level that is increasingly professional. Students will engage in stylized exercises designed to prepare them for the design of a research prospectus, and, in turn, their chosen research project. This course will help students become more adapt at doing philosophy professionally. (Students minoring in philosophy are admitted upon departmental approval.) Kirby, Mittag
