ENGL 262: Divided Nations

Prerequisites: Completion with a 2.0 or better of one unit numbered ENGL 120 to ENGL 189, or permission of instructor.
An exploration of the ways that various writers have engaged with issues of national division, destruction, or discord. We’ll read contemporary literature across a range of national contexts to examine how issues identify, citizenship, social justice, and human rights unfold across various stages of national creation, internal conflict, or dissolution.
