SPAN 316: Cultural Production in the Spanish

Prerequisites: SPAN 300 or SPAN 301 or permission of the instructor
An introduction to the analysis, interpretation and appreciation of cultural production from the Spanish-speaking world. This course will focus on poetry, music and painting (and on occasion may include sculpture, photography, architecture, performance art, etc.). Each analysis will include a detailed study of the work itself, and an examination of how the work is a product of and influences its cultural context.
