MUS 205: Jazz Improvisation

An introduction to the art and craft of jazz improvisation through a study of the theoretical, historical, philosophical and aesthetic factors surrounding its past, present and future performance practice. Course material is designed to develop thinking and reacting skills needed for performance through assignments in repertoire, scales, keyboard harmony skills and melodic patterns.
