A survey of the history of Roman art and architecture with a specific focus on Rome, the capital of the Roman Empire, from the sixth century B.C. to the fourth century A.D. Subjects include the major buildings and monuments of Rome, monumental relief sculpture, portrait sculpture, and paintings in the private homes of wealthy aristocrats.
